Modern slavery statement

Last updated: 14 August 2024

Trucare Professionals is committed to providing high-quality care and support to elderly individuals and adults with physical or mental disabilities in Oldham. We recognize the importance of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and are dedicated to ensuring that our business and supply chains are free from modern slavery and human trafficking.

We understand the serious impact that modern slavery has on its victims and are committed to taking proactive measures to prevent it. Our recruitment processes include rigorous identity and background checks to mitigate the risk of modern slavery. However, we remain vigilant, recognizing that risks can never be entirely eliminated. As an equal opportunity employer, we are dedicated to creating a safe and supportive working environment for all our employees, where they feel empowered to report any concerns.

This statement outlines the steps we have taken during the financial year ending 31st March 2024 as part of our ongoing commitment to tackle modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.

Training and Awareness

We continue to emphasize awareness of modern slavery through mandatory training for all our team members, including Service Managers, Operations Managers, and HR personnel. This training is supplemented with ongoing updates and resources, including quick reference guides and information accessible through our internal communication channels. Our documentation also provides clear guidance on reporting suspected cases of modern slavery to the relevant authorities.

Recruitment Processes

Given the challenges in the recruitment sector, particularly with the changes in immigration systems, we recognize the potential risks associated with employing workers from overseas. Our recruitment practices are designed to protect against exploitation, including thorough checks for all employees and agency staff. We work exclusively with approved recruitment agencies that meet our strict standards, including robust identity verification and right-to-work checks.

We have also implemented additional measures, such as requiring detailed documentation from recruitment agencies to ensure that the same high standards apply to all workers within our services. Our recruitment processes are designed to prioritize the safety, rights, and well-being of all employees.
